I am writing You as a person who is concerned with the respect of Human Rights, therefore I like to express my deep concern about  the situation of
NARGIZ ABSALAMOVA

I am writing to draw your attention to the arbitrary detention and deteriorating health of Abzas Media journalist Nargiz Absalamova. She is serving an eight-years prison sentence at Lankaran Penitentiary Complex on politically motivated charges. Absalamova suffers from a pre-existing sinus condition that has worsened in detention, causing severe headaches and breathing problems. Despite repeated requests by her and her lawyer, she has not received adequate medical care.

I am also concerned by reports that other detained journalists have been denied healthcare and subjected to poor detention conditions, including intimidation and abuse. Such treatment may violate Azerbaijan?s human rights obligations.

I urge you to immediately and unconditionally release Nargiz Absalamova and all other imprisoned Abzas Media journalists. Pending their release, they must have access to the healthcare they need. I also call on you to ensure independent investigations into allegations of denial of healthcare and other ill-treatment, and to end the targeting of independent journalists in Azerbaijan.
